Bitter Sweet Good-Bye

We're still talking on my front door.

You're trying to put off the good-bye that will have to come.

You gave me a rose to try to cover the pain you've given me.

You leave before I say good-bye, ignoring the bitterness in the air.

As you drive away my tears slip onto the rose making the scarlet red turn pure white.

With you gone I finally feel free.

A great burden has lifted from my weary shoulders.

I reach for the sky and cry out to the world.

I can conquer anything without you in my life.
